In 2002, Melissa founded Jazz House Kids, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for young people through the medium of jazz - America's original art form. Working with professional jazz musicians and teaching artists, JHK builds a musical foundation - a Jazz House! - in which youngsters gain respect for creativity, tolerance for diversity, harmony in teamwork, and love for self and others as they strive to become responsible global citizens and community leaders. |
